My name is Kelly Pierce and I was born in Mississauga Ontario, and went to postsecondary school at Brock University majoring in studio art, and minoring in psychology. I definitely see art as a form of therapy; in general but also from personal experience. In school I preferred working in oils, especially portraits.
I worked at art supply store in Oakville as a visual merchandiser, which exposed me to a variety of art mediums. I experimented with abstracts, specifically pouring medium and alcohol ink. Inspired by my grandpas work in soapstone carving, I gave it a try and loved the process. Now I’d say stone carving and oil painting are my favourite mediums to work in. Through at job I made some contacts and taught at an art studio and loved the experience.
I have a newer interest working with digital painting, specifically for animation backgrounds.
Aside from art, I’m interested in plants and nature, am a big hockey fan and love music.
