DJ, promoter, event organizer, community radio producer, sound system operator and collage artist. Purdon is a passionate advocate of sound system culture and its transformative power in creating unique musical experiences.
Co-creator and host of Otonabeats Radio, Peterboroughs local dance music and dance news show with DJ M0lly.Millions (Emily Minthorn) for five years running. Otonabeats aims to connect local up and coming and veteran DJs to dance music enthusiasts, helping to elevate and grow the local scene.
Part owner and operator of Illectric City Soundsystem with Dave Illeagle. Together they run a custom built hifi soundsystem modeled after classic dub/reggae designs. They present dance music the way it was intended to be heard.
As a DJ, Purdon leaves few dance music genres untouched. He plays a blend of various genres, including to not limited to UKG, Breaks, Techno, Grime, Dubstep, Jungle, Drum and Bass, Juke, Footwork, and numerous genre hybrids.
He views his collage work much like his DJing. Taking other people’s work and presenting it in a new and fresh way to stimulate your senses. Catch his collage work all across downtown in the form of posters for the next up and coming Otonabeats event.
