My art is a celebration of the natural world with a focus on fleeting moments of beauty. I like painting the way light makes forest flowers glow, and the sparkling edges of ice. The sort of things that require you to stop and appreciate while they are there. My paintings have an earthiness to them, with bright colours and bold shadows.
Now that I have a family some of my art involves illustrating the ridiculous, magical life of raising wild things. Things kids do that adults would never dream of, that allow us to laugh and carry on through the hard times. To be honest I think they're turning out just like me- barefoot in the garden, hunting for mini beasts and the dining table full of never ending art!
I primarily work in acrylics on canvas but I enjoy all mediums. Lately I've been moving away from my usual botanical paintings and focusing on portraits.
I am looking to take a limited number of children's portraits- please get in touch if you'd be interested!
